Empire Total War II Mod is a fan-made mod for Empire: Total War that completely overhauls the game with a range of new units and factions, as well as many other additions and changes. The mod is free to download

The developers behind this mod are following on from the success of a similar mod for the game, Empire: Total War, with this mod bringing more new content and scenarios that are aimed at extending the playability of this popular-but-aging game. However, the mod does require the player to own the full Empire: Total War game.

New game content

The biggest selling point of this mod is the fact that it adds a significant amount of new game content for the player to try, including over 1,500 new units and around 40 new playable factions. This includes additional models and artwork, some of which are borrowed from Total War: Napoleon. There is also an overhaul to the fatigue and morale system, making rest a more important part of the game.

Game mechanic tweaks

In addition to the new content, the mod makes several tweaks to the way the game plays. This includes things like removing protectorates from nations, updating some nations to better represent their strength, and making changes that allow AI players to build stronger armies. The audio system is also reworked to give the player a more visceral experience.

Adds longevity to an old game

Empire Total War II Mod is unlikely to appeal to people who are not already fans of Empire: Total War, but for players who are, this mod adds a great deal of new content, enough to be comparable to an official expansion pack or DLC.
